Saturday – The Start of Your Sailing Week
It’s Saturday — the most exciting day of the week at Marina Zadar, when a new wave of guests arrives to begin their yacht charter adventure in Croatia. The marina, located right in the heart of Zadar and just a few minutes’ walk from the old town, slowly fills with energy and the sound of halyards and seagulls.
When you arrive at the Bruneko Charter office, our friendly staff welcomes you and quickly handles the paperwork. The process is smooth and efficient — no long waits.
If you came early, you can go to the town for lunch, a stroll, or even to the beach while your boat is being prepared (cleaning and maintenance). If you’ve handled the paperwork early, the staff will call you when the boat is ready. Then you’ll come to the office and receive the check-in list for your catamaran, sailing boat, or motor boat.
If you’ve chosen priority check-in, your yacht will be ready by 13:00. Otherwise, our standard check-in begins at 17:00, when your boat is fully cleaned, prepared, and waiting for you. Sometimes the boat is ready even before 17:00 — we always try to get them prepared as early as possible. However, this depends on any needed repairs and how clean the yacht was left by the previous crew.
Before Boarding – Getting Ready for the Sea
While the Bruneko team finishes preparing your yacht, most guests take this time to shop for groceries and provisions. There are several nearby stores and markets within walking distance of the marina, so you can easily stock up on fresh fruit, vegetables, snacks, and local Dalmatian specialties.
It’s also the perfect moment to enjoy a quick lunch or coffee with a sea view before your Croatian sailing holiday begins.
Afternoon – Check-In on Board with Our Skipper
Once your yacht is ready, one of our experienced Bruneko skippers will meet you on board for a thorough check-in. This is one of the things our guests appreciate most — we take the time to make sure you feel completely confident and comfortable.
During the check-in, the skipper will show you:
- How everything on the boat works (engine, sails, instruments, water systems, etc.)
- Where all the equipment and safety gear are located
- Useful sailing and anchoring tips for the Adriatic
You’re free to ask any questions — our team is there for you every step of the way.
When the check-in is complete, you’ll receive the boat papers. Then, it’s time to set sail!
If you’re new to boating and want to gain more confidence, you can hire one of our skippers for a training session on Sunday morning. During this time, you’ll have the chance to ask more questions, practice maneuvering, and learn useful tips and tricks. It’s the perfect way to start your week relaxed and prepared.
Leaving Marina Zadar – Smooth and Safe
Marina Zadar is cozy and perfectly located — but also quite tight for maneuvering. That’s why one of our Bruneko team members always helps you leave the marina berth, ensuring everything goes smoothly and safely.
You can depart the same evening to reach a nearby bay for your first swim and sunset at anchor, or stay overnight in the marina and start your journey early Sunday morning. Either way, our team is available on Sunday morning as well to assist you with departure.
During Your Week at Sea – Support You Can Count On
Once you’re sailing, the adventure is entirely yours. Explore the Kornati Islands, Dugi Otok, or the peaceful coves of Ugljan — all just a few hours away from Zadar.
And while you’re out at sea, you’re never alone. Our 24/7 technical support line connects you directly with our base manager. If you have any questions or encounter a technical issue, just call — we’ll guide you through it or even come out for an on-sea intervention if needed.
Our goal is simple: your comfort, safety, and unforgettable sailing experience.
Friday – Return and Check-Out
By Friday at 15:00, all yachts return to Marina Zadar so our diver can check the hulls underwater. Our staff will assist you with docking — just like when you departed.
The check-out is fast and friendly. Together, we review the boat’s condition and make sure everything is in order. If there were any issues during your charter, we’ll discuss them openly — and our guests always appreciate the fair and transparent approach.
Many crews choose to spend Friday evening in Zadar Old Town — just a 7-minute walk from the marina — to enjoy a farewell dinner at one of the city’s beautiful restaurants.
Saturday Morning – Until Next Time
On Saturday by 9:00, it’s time to say goodbye. The Bruneko team begins preparing yachts for the next guests arriving later that day — and the cycle of adventures continues.
Each week brings new faces, new stories, and new memories — all starting from dock to deck, right here in Marina Zadar.
